Just remember that what you wipe off on the outside is in probably more the inside.
Can be problematic...

You seem to be doing just fine...gently gently the way to go.
Clean the gearbox and refresh grease by hand etc. Not packed to the max just leave some air.
I am interested in the recoil starter?
I suspect an add-on at some stage.

Ended up scoring another barrel. Same casting so bonus there.

THAT is very odd aye. Is there a "Factory Repair" number anywhere, and I mean anywhere, small font, something like this? 9897.jpg Other thort to mind is that the crankcase could have been destined, lets us say, an early AD (1947 0n)...wrong parts trolley. The engine number makes no sense....
