Well done very nice job. Good to see this engine is been built to use. Not another wheely bin queen. I would love to get one of these outboards for racing. I reckon some of these earlier designs have a lot of potential. Particularly the exhaust, cylinder barrel and gearbox/ exhaust housing.

Sand blasting does a better job of cleaning them. Cleans of all the carbon tracks.

A mixture of 50/ 50 acetone and ATF (Automatic transmission oil) works very well to free up stuck parts.

I wouldn't feed him those poisonous things, he will end up with a severe case of the whinges and lack of motivation.

What seals? No seals in seagull gearbox that I have seen. I agree the oil should emulsify. but it dose separate and then the crown wheel sits in water. just drain the emulsified oil out of your gearbox and see how long it takes might surprise you.
