I have recently acquired this SD model seagull. It was purchased from the son, of the original owner, and came with various original papers and exploded diagrams, that most have probably seen before. Interestingly, it looks to of had a 3 inch extension, to the driveshaft, and exhaust tube. I have ne...

All the best with the focus, and success of quitting.
It certainly seems like a lot of money, that could be better wasted on vintage outboards.lol.

It must be fairly common, as I also have one. Same lower unit, but with a victa lawnmower engine adapted. It also was poorly engineered, and only run for a short time, before it flogged out the crankshaft bearings. Lol

You are not the only one, that has trouble with salt water corrosion. LOL
It seems every outboard I touch, has some part , or bolt that is rusted solid.

Here are a couple of my riptides. I have one early fisherman F337 / 3. It has the steel tank mount, and RIPTIDE on the rope sheath My latter one 59 / 6023 has the alloy tank mounts, and a smooth rope sheath. I have another later one, but too hard to get to , to picture. It also has alloy tank bracke...

OK, Cool. I will get some pics, and some serial numbers, over the next few days. From memory , I have a couple with the alloy tank bracket, and one with the steel bracket, and tank straps.
