Re: Modification Standards for Racing Classes

Rex nobody wants to scrutineer anybody, all this should be done on trust, No Cash Prizes. The only scrutineering done at present is for safety. Cav plates have a value on hulls with rocker as they work like a trim tab & keep the hull at the right angle of attack, not everyone wants to spend a fo...

Re: Modification Standards for Racing Classes

Rex I do have some involvement with the current Waikato rule change discussion & I'm sure JC with furnish you all with a summary of the current fisticuffs. As your question is a bit ill timed, your not going to get an answer till we can come up with worthwile proposals. So please be patient, the...

Re: My next boat

Cheap & easy to build, plans available free.
Price/performance pretty good.

Not bad looking, but takes 2 to carry.

Won't fly with a classic Seagull, but better than a clinker.

Re: My next boat

What you must remember HA that the bottom of this hull was designed to do between 30 & 40 Mph, hardly touching the water, with only the back 30% ish of it's hull getting wet. The best ever "claimed" with a Century powerhead is 18 Mph not GPS verified, nowadays 12 to 14 mph is the speed...

Re: Seagull oil in water problem

PAINT IT ON WITH BLOOD
Biodegradable & no backing paper.

I used to have a sing on my desk at work that said

"You don't have to be mad to work here but it helps!"

Much more credible when written with your own faeces.

Re: intrigued

Jennings is the ideal first two-stroke tuning book, I don't think the copyright holders will be too impressed with that link, buying a copy might prove very difficult & expensive. Bells book is current printed by Haynes & available & very good but they all concentrate on motorcycles. I d...

You forgot these books, * Two-stroke Tuner's Handbook by Gordon Jennings a copy of this will cost you £50 + but good & applicable. * Two-stroke exhaust systems by Roy Bacon good but not a lot of use £10. * Design and Simulation of Two-Stroke Engines by Gordon Blair you'll need a master in applie...

Mutineer that gear box never was able to tale a clutch
To install a clutch would entail changing everything below the crankcase except the exhaust.

Nobody's wife will let them keep items this valuable in the shed, it will be one either side of the TV now! & she'll dust them & mop up the oil drips without a moan.

Re: Can a cracked flywheel be welded?

I would have thought that welding a flywheel from a late 60's or any Seagull might be one of the most foolish things you could do! Your going to be sitting next to a lump of possibly flawed aluminium & almost certainly out of balance, weighing about a kilo, rotating at up to 4000 revs a minute g...

I'm the man who builds Church's I only wrote churchs because I can't spell Cathedrals when I blueprint my Seagulls. I have worked on less than 10 of the 40 series so I can't really comment. buy yourself a book on two-stroke tuning & come up with your own ideas. Make sure everything is working pe...
