Re: Any suggestions?
Over the summer I built a 16ft canoe for the grandkids. Its extra wide about 4ft 2ins and I built it of 18mm x 3-4mm strip pine covered both sides with 300gms woven glass. The bottom line is it is very light for its size and is very strong. This next summer I have been toying with building another b...

To get a bit more room, what about a double decker with the lighter ones on a hoist system above the others. Just a thought.

Re: Daft question
Its a long argument but us old school were always told the maximum speed of a displacement hull was. ``the square of its hull length in the water (in feet) times the frictional factor of the hull`` hulls frictional factors vary but a good average is 1.4 or 1.5. If you want to go faster than this you...

Re: Would a 102 be suitable for a 15ft cuddy?
I had. 102 as a back up for a Johnson 20 on a 16ft Bass type boat for inshore fishing. Once when the Johnson decided it didn't want to play the old seagull pushed me back no troubles.

Re: Off topic - BSR antique turntable
It was a long time ago but if I remember right your s is for sapphire and will have LP for long player when you flip it over. The diamond came as a one sided needle and you could not flip it over, things may of changed over the years or maybe my memory might be letting me down. My DJ always gave the...

Re: Off topic - BSR antique turntable
Again going from memory after being the running guy for a mobile disco some 40 years ago in Portsmouth UK, The sapphire was a sweeter sound when new but would fade after a short while. The diamond good quality `needles`are the ones to go for as once settled would last much longer and the average pun...

Theres some special `paint` for doing the inside of rusty petrol tanks. You know then its the original tank for that engine plus you know the bottom is not going to fall out of it if its treated right. Just a thought hope it helps.

Re: 40 starting problems
I had a mower like your seagull many years ago and eventually put it down to someone putting grease on the contact points shaft. After removing and deep cleaning the points in petrol, and refitting with no lubrication it started and run a treat.

Re: Which gearbox for Centry racing gull
Bottom End Stuffers. Were moulded aluminium `fingers` that are bolted onto the sides of the crank case so the fingers point up filling as much space as possible on the top of the flywheel and into the bottom of the piston when it is at BDC. The idea is to increase the crank case pressure when the pi...
