Yes I asked that question a while ago. It is 8-32 UNC, but I think the other end is 2BA. That is what I used and it worked fine.

If you have the engine in bits for a total rebuild, and you have a new pair of rings. Would it not be worth putting the new rings in? They are not expensive and can only improve compression. Some of the motor bike people even run them in dry for a few seconds to hone the bore (Not sure about this). ...
