Re: 3D printing

I have 3d printed parts for seagulls....So a new part could be cast!
It would have looked better if the layer height was smaller or at least cleaned up a bit.

Re: FPL won't runwithout choke

Hi,
First off Seagulls leak dont worry about the oil that leaks out from it.

Have you cleaned the filter inside of the fuel tank? Your problem is a fuel issue (not getting enough fuel) that is why it is working with the choke on.

Re: waitara river seagull race

you have to stay thin to win! I do casting as a side hobby and my friends seem to thing aluminium is the same.... It's not. I also use the pans to catch the drips from under the gearbox when in storage. patent! Now that's a good idea, now who can I get to pay for that? Cheeky Charles maybe?? :...

So Im guessing you might get about 2~3 knots out of the seagull?

Pics of the "Pan" Has to be of the non stick type to work!

Re: waitara river seagull race

You have every chance to win a race with that boat. I may just have to drop my motor over the side first! Maybe if you didn't fill it with sand from that tipper it might go better! I have considered trying this to aid going astern in choppy conditions what gear box motor have you got...

Re: waitara river seagull race

I see alot of competitors have added an extra piece to the anti cavitation plate Yes I do this also. by doing that we can run the engine a lot higher in the water with out the prop grabbing air (as much) the higher the engine the less drag it has = the faster you go. Here are the overall results . ...

Re: Water testing 40+ and Silver Century

You will have to take the jets out.
Look at the number on the side of the jet. I think one will have 20 on it and the other 40 or 45. Im not sure what one is the 10:1 v the 20:1 I would need to look in the book for that (if it is in there I have not looked for that)

Re: Seagull Threads (Nuts and Bolts)

Took my boat and Silver Seagull out for a run today (first day off in 6 months) only to find it was not pumping water very well. Pulled the water intake pipe off to find the brass fitting that goes into the block half blocked with hard rust. The hole was still big enough for air and water from a hos...

Re: FREE!!!! Come get it....

So If I use my 20" that will give me the room for the fuel sitting on the floor. The food may be a problem. If there is a tone of fuel (and that is lighter than water) then with all the tins of beans and and beer to last 62 days that has to make at least 3 tone. Did you take the trade winds and...
