Well, there's something to be said for underselling - leaves them pleasantly surprised vs bitterly disappointed...?!

Re: V-strut for Skeletal bracket

Nudge, the length of the broken support arm & hook on mine measures at 14.8mm, base to tip.

I'd definitely be in for one, but I'll ask around to see if there's any other interest here. A huge thanks again for your time & willingness..! :P

Re: V-strut for Skeletal bracket

Hugo - I have 2 ali hook ons in good shape with tilt supports intact. I only need one so you're welcome to the other if you'd like. Shoot me an email, if so..?

Re: V-strut for Skeletal bracket

There is a pic on the main site showing a brass hook on, I believe.
Wish I knew enough to have an opinion on it.. but sounds plausible to me...!

Re: V-strut for Skeletal bracket

Ah - apologies, Hugo, I assumed you were talking about the brass/bronze (?) conventional support lugs (as shown in my pic). Didn't realise you meant the hook-ons for the skeletal bracket.

Re: V-strut for Skeletal bracket

Here's a pic, Nudge... I did do a little interwebs reading a while back when I got it, and initially figured the piece to be more likely brass rather than bronze as I thought I saw more yellow/gold in it than brown/reddish when I cleaned it up... but i'm really not sure. Just hoping someone with exp...

Re: V-strut for Skeletal bracket

It’s the safety issues that worry me most. I need to confirm my driveshaft clamp/support lug (?) is brass & not bronze first, too.

Anyone else with one in their collection that can confirm?

Re: V-strut for Skeletal bracket

I don’t know that it was on the forum, but I had mentioned to Charles UK that I was interested in casting mine to make a few more for a mate over here. It wouldn’t be till later in the year, after a bunch more research. Also, anything we do would be done in the backyard, so to speak. But if we go ah...

Re: exhaust port

There's quite a few different castings throughout the 102 range (40's, Centuries & Silver Centuries, too).

Quite a range in port timing, too, from cast to cast. You'll also find inconsistencies in machining that push all the timings earlier or later, cylinder to cylinder from the same cast.
