Can picture what happened and the surprised look on his face lucky the flywheel didn't let go, think we have learnt
something here. Hugz has too many Seagull spares.

Why would you want to do that, will have to report you to the RSPCA.

Well didn't expect that, what was the crank like any signs of blueing (Heat), what was the drills speed? Guess it proves they are one tough motor, still couldn't do that to one of my motors you must have a ton of spares laying around.

Have to agree with others using an electric drill to start a seagull or check for spark is not necessary and could damage
your motor. Now I see you using the drill just to make sanding easier please take care.

Another 102 Headed to South Australia a 1953-54 it may be a bitza the gearbox prop area looks wrong, guess the remote area it came from the reason.

Here is a 1949-50 102 that I recently scored will put up better images when it arrives, note the prop spring.

Well done, I made an offer but little late and below asking price. Funny how motors move around this Seagull is heading east and I have two 102's heading back here from NSW's, fresh water Murray area.

Like AusAnzani said if you are planning to use it I would have to sort it out, does not look like its been bead blasted changing the bolts may have broken the seal.

Do you mask the ring grooves & gudgeon pin holes, Croweater? No, I know many mask the ring grooves and lands. The piston is clean before I blast them good enough to put in a motor, when we bead blast them we don't concentrate on those areas. Started doing it in the 80's in our race bike motors ...

That piston in the top photo is shot best place for it is the bin. I have had no issues with bead basted pistons have been using them for decades but I do the blasting. Cleaning the piston afterwards takes me longer than some guys take to build a motor.
