Re: Gear oil and two stroke

If we shadows have offended,
Think but this and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream...

Re: Gear oil and two stroke

Charles accesses the condition of his lower unit and assesses his lubrication requirements on a daily basis. Sometimes more than once.

Re: SD on Ebay

It looks ok and it wouldn't take much to re-paint the tank but his price is high. Reserve will at least £200. And I'd rather have a Bolinder. Have a look at this video of a historic narrowboat in action.

Re: Forty Feather

I know, just for fun, why don't you stop asking all your annoying rhetorical questions and actually contribute something for a change? Bit rude, have you ever taken one of these apart yourself? Nothing rude about it. Yes, I have taken several apart (and put them back together), it was never easy an...

Re: Forty Feather

So the stop switch is something to do with grounding the signal to the CDi right? Make with the science dude. Yep, the module I referred to has the requisite wire.

Re: Forty Feather

Yup, bonkers. The outrigger will complete the ensemble nicely. If your CDi has the wire Charles talks about then it will be right cheap (probably). Otherwise issagonna costyamista.

Re: Forty Feather

aw ok you win , can't tell till the flywheel is examined. Tell us how to install a kill-cord Charles. I have a ignition module from a 170 not currently in use...

Maybe the four nuts will need to come off eventually but concentrate on the big one at the top first.

Re: Forty Feather

That sounds nuts. I love it. I'll come and see that in action, I'm not far from Sheppey. Your ignition is a MK4, it is possible to fit a kill cord. However you will need the right sort of CDi unit as previously mentioned and some destructions from someone who knows more about electronics than me...c...

Re: Forty Feather

If it looks like this s-l1600.jpg No you can't. If it is substantially different, then maybe it is electronic as you say and maybe you can add a kill-cord but only if the CDi unit has two wires coming out of it which will only be apparent after removing the flywheel. Have fun doing that. Why do you ...

I like the 'hippy artwork', someone had a bad case of wishful thinking... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-SEAGULL-OUTBOARD-MOTOR/183731093321?hash=item2ac739ff49:g:7VkAAOSwHkBci6ii The 'Bolinder' engine was a type of single-cylinder two-stroke diesel used on some traditional commercial narrowboat...
