However you will need the right sort of CDi unit as previously mentioned and some destructions from someone who knows more about electronics than me...c...

If it is substantially different, then maybe it is electronic as you say and maybe you can add a kill-cord but only if the CDi unit has two wires coming out of it which will only be apparent after removing the flywheel.
