Re: AC Authenticity

It is a shame it's ended this way, as I do think John's heart was in the right place, but to be honest I could see this coming.

Re: Anzani sport twin

I think I have seen three of them over the years, it's a little like the Anzani onboard engine, it may have just not have sold very well.

Re: Corrosion Protection

I use my motors in fresh water, so salt is not a problem, I just take a motor or two out for the day, in the process I stink the car out with fuel and once I get home, I just put them back in the shed, I only really use them in the summer, so they have a little time to dry out. Not a problem for me ...

Re: Taking SJM 661L5 For a Run

Totally agree, its more like a 60's motor, with some plastic parts, clench bolt facing backswords, tank ends, it even looks like an aluminium exhaust and tiller.

Re: AC Authenticity

Not knowing the date of the motor in question, makes it difficult to be 100%, as parts may have overlapped.

Re: AC Authenticity

The AC was a post war motor to around 1957, tank supports would be chrome and aluminium clutch lever.
Bronze lever are seen on wartime motors, this information may also depend on the age of your motor.

Re: Strange Spark Plug find

I have a good collection of original unused spark plugs, I use original plugs that would have been in the motor at the time, I have never used a modern equivalent, I mostly use Lodge and champion, plus I have others like KLG Lissen and I have only ever had a problem with one and it was a more modern...

Re: Moderators Meeting Spillover

So did anyone actually come up with anything worthy of consideration by the three amigos, or was this just a smoke blowing exercise?

And I thought it was easier than that, the 15 had a three blade prop and the 10 had a two.

Thank you Tam.

It arrived in the post, even though it was folded in half to get it through the letterbox.
One look at it and it reminds my how cold it is outside.
Much appreciated.
