Remember to get as much electrical conductivity between the spring and nipple. This is an area that causes problems of lost or intermittent spark. Yes, nipple can dislodge and disappear.

If you are close to Lane Cove you can have the base plate if you wish to hit yours with an angle grinder. You will still need to find a locating stud though. I'm not into posting unfortunately.

You inspired me to pull a plate apart. A good coil so I can modify it to fit a JM magnet. It is an Australian coil called Rofo.

I have three ali transom brackets:

ED Direct drive no reverse.
Curlew clutch no reverse.
EFNR clutch with reverse.

Any idea of the engine number on that? Has a later Ali transom bracket. And a clutch. Why are they breaking it up? Seems a shame.
