Re: Villiers Ignition

Condensers either breakdown & dead short, or eventualy dry out & loose there capacitance value. I did have a Villiers coil on a Seagull that would start & run & when it was hot stop & refuse to start un till it cooled down. It was a faulty coil in this case.

Re: IGN Coil alternative?

The coil is running of the primary winding of the original Villiers coil. The whole idea is no battery required.

IGN Coil alternative?

When over at Smokestack saw coil ign without a battery. So thaught id give it a go using a COP from a Ford Falcon BA model & an Australian vehicle & theres plenty of them in the wreckers. Its a coil only & has a resistance of .5 ohm. Wired as i have in the circuit on a Villiers coil it g...

Re: Spring sprung failure

The black pump is a Vac/Pressure pump capable of 20Psi, started with that only but im a air hog so fitted the second one. The blue pump is an aquarium pump 10Psi. These are diaphram pumps so there is no oil involved. As some one has already stated the snorkel has a purge valve in the bottom for the ...

Re: Spring sprung failure

Hi Robin, this is what i used to use to scrub the bottom of my yacht. It just uses a couple of 12V diaphram compressors, dive hose & a modified snorkel that has a non return valve in it. Its a total loss type system & works well to 12Ft depth, it draws about 10Amps on a 12V battery. Dont hav...

Re: DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS BARGAIN!!

I guess in most areas there is a certain amount of mean spirit in collectors. I had a small collection of vintage stationary engines, collectors wanted them for next to nothing. They were all in good runing order, & i was lucky to find a person who had a museum of farm machinery. Since these wer...

Re: do plugs wear out?

Yes spark plugs do wear out. The center electrode wears & when its rounded it takes a higher voltage to fire the mixture. In cars it usualy shows as intermittent missing on acelleration. Due to the relatively cheep price of new plugs its hardly worthy while filing the center electrode & re g...
