Holden to leave Austrailia...
No more "Football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars..." Sad to hear that Holden is to quit production after so many years. I have a friend who lived in Oz from 1965 to 1990 and he always reminises about his Holden Ute and tubes of VB... Ah,the rose tinted memories...

Re: Icing
I've been out in all weathers and through semi-frozen lake with my 1947 102 and have never experienced icing around inlet. There was ice around my "inlet" as the mist does have a habit of freezing on one's beard...

Re: 1929 Dunelt
I totally agree with you Charlie but it is sad to think of how many nice old motors were slung in the scrap both here and in England over the years. I know people who would rather sell a motor for scrap for a few quid than see the likes of us save them and restore them!

Re: wanted swop for a twin vintage outboard
Hi Niander, what ye need is a Unitwin, the ONLY motor with enough grunt to scare a flock of Seagulls!

Re: On Ebay. Grab It!
Hmm,not sure what to say next... I think that secretly we'd all like to have it in our collection, just because it's different :) . It's quite old, small, light and awfully English so what could possibly go wrong? As regards magneto repairs, don't get me started... I had to get the Thomson...

Re: 1929 Dunelt
Surely there must be one somewhere that is in running order? If I can unearth an Elto Ruddertwin,Lockwood Chief and a Competition Unitwin here in Ireland then there MUST be a few Dunelts in England that are saveable? Surely all the old sheds that they lurked in aren't turned into a &q...

Re: 1929 Dunelt
It would be interesting to see and hear a Dunelt run. I must confess I've never seen one apart from Hunns book and ebay... Mind you I've heard a Rolls straight 8 diesel in a Thornycroft tank transporter flat out,but that's another story...

1928 Lockwood Chief (a rather sad example)
Look what I got for £25... It needs a few parts, which I have sourced from a friend in the US. What have I let myself in for? All manner of ridicule and scorn is welcome...haha

Re: 1929 Dunelt
Tell me about it...has anyone else hung on to an engine part in case "someday it will be useful"? The day after you chuck it in the bin,THAT'S when someone offers you the rest of the motor!

Re: 1929 Dunelt
Yea,we've all done that... I have several motors AND stationary engines that I knew were NEVER going to run again but at the time I NEEDED them and HAD to buy them... Boys and their toys...

Re: British Anzani Class B Racer
Hmm,thought I recognised that motor...Norfolk? If so,it came from a good home,he's a sound bloke and knows his stuff. I've been at his place,he has some fine motors in his collection.
As for the exhaust,as long as it sounds good, that's what really matters!
