Re: 2016 Seagull Nationals at Nillagen
Well, the "semi-annual" Oz Seagull National Gathering has been held, and we achieved a record attendance, with 12 boats, nine of which were powered by Seagulls (the others being a safety boat, whose Evinrude broke down..!!; and a timber sedan cruiser of a member who needed to take it for a...

URGENT request from the Murray River boys
Hey, all Got a call from John B tonight, he's worried about the fact that his gearbox keeps draiing itself after about 40kms of running. Seems to recalla thread or discussion hear about something you could do to ensure the gearbox didn't lose its vital fluids via the seal on the shaft behind the pro...

Re: fish farm in our loch
willie Sadly, I agree with almost everything you said, and I agree with the proposition that it would be 'better' for fish farms to be 'contained'. I was merely responding to some of your comments regarding the pellets vs 'wild' food idea. Chemicals are chemicals, whether they are sourced from crunc...

Re: fish farm in our loch
There's no need to be offensive! But your post clearly demonstrates that it is you who has no idea of the underlying chemical nature of biology and the ingestion or absorption of the necessary chemical cocktail required to sustain life. Contrary to your claim, pellets are seldom made from other fish...

Re: fish farm in our loch
O49 +1 I agree totally. Similarly the Atlantic salmon farmed in Tasmania is done under very controlled conditions and is constantly monitored by the relevant authorities and by animal welfare organisations. The fish tastes fantastic and provides much needed income and industry to otherwise economica...

How cool! Who knew we still had a big Cat' flying in Oz.....
Rathmines was the site of the WWII east coast anti-sub squadron flying Catalinas out of Lake Macquarie.
Seems to take an awfully long run to 'unstick', or is that normal?

Re: I dont know what to say
I emailed the guy trying to sell the booklets and explained why he had not sold them.
He emailed back asking if I wanted to buy them, and when I responded that I didn't he asked why I was 'waisting' his time.
Not only is he a rip off merchant, he can't spell either.
Complete moron.

Re: fish farm in our loch
Guys, I hate to rain on your parade, but at the rate the human population is expanding we will soon have crashed all the stocks of fish in all the oceans and completely stuffed the marine ecosystem. Farming fish is the sensible solution to depleted wild fish stocks and human demand for fish protein....

Re: Long Throttle Cable
There's a special "cable oil" for bicylce brakes and gear shifts that is fully synthetic and I think has silicone in it.
It's like *super lube*....amazing stuff, but NOT cheap. Can't remember the brand but my old man used ot use it on his recumbent trike's extra long gear shift cables.

Re: EFRNL poor starter
That motor is very similar to my Model 75, except with the FNR box (and Long shaft). It should have the choke shroud, and mine does need it when cold. I have noticed that just holding down the tickler does not always produce fuel flow - mostly I have to 'pump' it a bit to get the flow going. So I'd ...
