Re: If one is good... then 2 HAS to be better!

If you don't stop now, all is lost! Get out while you can. I know of people with 3000-5000 outboard motors. Next thing you know you will have to build a storage and display area. I think 20-30 are about max. you can have if you plan to run each one every year.

Re: ELGIN SKIPPER 35

$50-$100 would buy it here, maybe $200 if it were running faultlessly, had a good non rusty tank with it and had better cosmetics. Too bad shipping is so high.

Re: AOMCI site blue boards down!

Just so you know it's not your computer, all the blue boards on the AOMCI site appear to have been lost yesterday. Server appears to be taking no reasonsibility. I know this site has had problems in the past as well, might be good to have everything backed up frequently. Paid up Members of AOMCI sig...

Thanks for posting the great photos! Nice to see someplace where it's not -10-20c most of the time, plus almost 3' of snow on the ground.

Re: New Sea Gul owner with 1 question

I remember reading somewhere in Seagull literature that SAE 30 motor oil should be used below 32 F. The bushings ( bushes for you Brits) would have to be pretty good to hold that in once the weather warmed a little, best to put it in cold I guess. Cold gearbox, cold oil. I have never had a problem wi...

I know of people that have 3000-5000 old outboards, Jerseyman has a ways to go yet I would say.

Just like when I was in hospital there is always someone worse off than you are.

Re: Wanted early Evinrude rowboat motor

You may want to check out if folks might have parts as well, someone from the U.K. sent me a 1913 Evinrude prop. A few years back on the chance it could be used on my Caille RBM, sadly it didn't fit. I understood at the time that he had a few other parts from it as well. Would not hurt trying webver...

Re: Help identerfing This engine Please

If I was driving that far for it, I would like to see more photos, preferably with a decent camera, gear case, starboard side, front and bck top etc. I agree the price is too steep, what would it be if he covered your fuel for driving out there? What number is stamped on the lower crankcase at the c...

Re: Is it possible to morph a SJP and a EFPC?

The head needs to come off in my opinion, if it happens to have a broken ring you certainly do not want to run it that way. Head off will allow you to clean the water jacket out as mentioned, as well as assessing the condition of the bore. To do a proper job the crankcase needs to be opened and the ...
