Re: Roys second 102 series build

The German company DPD that collected the Amal 2 jet carburetor from Martin on the 3rd of March 2019 had the part in Johannesburg, South Africa since the 7th of March, since then the RSA Customs have been blocking it as they were not happy with the ten pounds declared value on an Antique Carburetor....

Re: Roys second 102 series build

Plus the guy on the Isle of Skye who sent a lot more parts and at some cost to me refuses to reply to me when I ask him for a traker number, he is as bad as the RSA customs and our SAPO. I did reply explaining some things, must have not arrived at your inbox for some reason. Jacob Jacob, I asked yo...

Re: Roys second 102 series build

So here we are, its now mid day on thursday and some five days since the RSA customs stoped my ten pounds (declared) package, there is no sign of and intended delivery and checking the tracker number just says the courier took delivery on the 7th of March 2019. Plus the guy on the Isle of Skye who s...

That looks like a straight shaft without a taper, I suppose as long as the shaft suits the exit at the top of the flywheel, when clamped up with the nut it will work?

Re: Flywheel woes

I built one with a dummy home made crank, a couple of pulleys & variable speed motor that could spin the flywheel between 500 & 5000 revs when I was researching with another member, Seagull ignition performance as part of my Seagull technical overview stuff & to assist choosing the most suitable co...

Re: Flywheel woes

I added a century head to my test rig by drilling out a the tank lug and bolting it to the tiller arm attach point. This way l know l have a good earth for the plug and don't have to muck around clamping or holding plug. magneto test rig.jpg Now that is a good idea, I think it was yourself who told...

Here it has a value, I can make a test bed to run up Wipac 2 coils to see if the spark at the plug is constant, I have a flywheel base plate, the damaged flywheel, I just need a crank now !

Re: Flywheel woes

Didn't we tell you not to use a puller on any Seagull flywheel especially a Wypac as they're BRITTLE! You can probably tell us, why we said that. As for even thinking of using it, it's you who's going to get hit when it lets go big time, it's too far to travel for us, to attend the funeral! Who sai...

Flywheel woes

I guess this is what happens when a puller is used on a Seagull flywheel ? The missing weight will not effect the rotation much, the missing strenght may well do so? Is the flywheel now scrap? If so its a shame, as the parts bin I have now is very thin and not a great deal is left. Note, this pictur...

Re: 40 minus will not start

Hi all I recently acquired a 40 minus non runner. It had compression so I figured it might run. I have managed to get her sparking . I also cleaned the carb and petrol tank. Put some new fuel in but can't get her to fire up. I did pour a little 2 stroke in the plug hole and air intake to oil the pi...
