Re: Britannia ID Help

Thanks for the information . I thought the left one was a Swordfish but the tank is very flat compared with all the pictures I've seen and I can't find one with the exhaust shaped like it . Can you age them from the serial numbers ?

Re: Anyone seen one of these fuel tanks before?

I saw it for sale somewhere recently , it was Seagull outboard fans on Facebook indeed . I was intrigued by the tank but not enough to bid ! I've messaged the guy to see if he still has note of the serial number as it has been sold now .

Re: Anyone seen one of these fuel tanks before?

Would it be possible to get pictures from underneath ? It would be interesting to see if it's a correct fit onto the head or if there are any signs of alterations . I thought it may have been a Britannia tank but they're different .

Re: Orkney dinghy

Hi Dave

Thanks for the information . I don't think the boat was ever rigged for sailing . There is no sign of any provision for a mast or rudder and the family which owned it previously had only used oars or a Seagull ! I would say it wasn't really built for an outboard because of the rake in the ...

Re: Reliability

Many fishing vessels and work boats prefer the old school diesels for their rugged simplicity and reliability and I think the same could be said for Seagull . Most folk who are handy with a spanner can keep one going . On the larger modern engines if the computer says no they just stop or at best go ...

Re: Orkney dinghy

Thanks for your comments . I'm taking the boat and some outboards to a vintage rally this weekend so hoping someone can fill in the blanks . I know it's history back as far as 1966 .
