Re: Undocumented Australian Outboards

Here's that advert for the Regcraft from 1963 there is a boat somewhere in NSW don't think there would be many survivors. Bruce might be able tell us about the company history. http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r563/Bezzajohn/Regcraft%204hp%20Inboard-Outboard%20%201962%20June%20PB%20amp%20Y%20mag5...

Re: Undocumented Australian Outboards

What a find its a Regcraft inboard/outboard Victa powered usually sold with a 11 foot dinghy sold for 112 pounds in 1962.
The motor is a Victa Tiger which develops 4hp @ 2,800rpm, have an add and dinghy test somewhere.

Re: BASS STRAIT CROSSING - MARCH 2016

Bad luck finding Seahorse is not suitable, there's an old couta boat for sale on Gumtree might be worth a look. http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r563/Bezzajohn/Tassie%20Couta%20Boat_zps0dhqkbuk.jpg http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/margate/motorboats-powerboats/tasmanian-couta-boat/1092312795 John

Re: Bass Striate Crossing

You have just about have it covered looking at you're list, there are a couple of things that might be useful. Fuel Tank; we had one split on our run. Tank nuts; the only thing that we lost should've used Loctite on them. Original fuel cap; so you can lay the motor or tank down in the boat. Fuel Lin...

Re: Twist Grip Throttle

Good idea like the short shift drum the only thing missing on the Nexus is a damper. Amal twist grip will need a 90deg elbow out of the drum or it will have a cable that's not in line with the tiller, look for an OE unit some of aftermarket ones are not as smooth to use. Having used Amal throttles f...

Re: Magic Transom.

What I did on my dinghy (not finished yet) was to cut the Transom so I can run a short shaft on one side and a long on the other. http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r563/Bezzajohn/Cindy-J%20at%20Snowden%20Beach_zpsykkeo1nv.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r563/Bezzajohn/Cindy-J%20amp%20Curru...
