Cable has been replaced, and I soldered a nipple onto the end of the new cable. # All going well til the throttle jammed shut (looks like a burr on the jet) and I remoed the newly solded nipple.... the only wway to release it all was to stick a screwdriver in throgh inlet, and I managed to take a ch...

Block won't come off the drive tube...

I'm obviously doing something wrong here...!! Forty minus, and I've read the manual (thanks John!) Both nuts off the bottom of the block to tube flange, exhaust tube is free to move (it rotates in place !) but whatever I do I can't get the block and drive tube to separate more than about 1/8th of an...

I had the same problem with my nine year old and a surplus of featherweights. So I built a one 8x4 sheet 6mm ply boat. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj60/Horsley-Anarak/th_1sheet.jpg When it is finished I will post pictures of how it goes with a featherweight on the back. H-A H-A Is that from ...

Just a quick note about service..! I spoke to John on Tuesday night about a manual and a few other things, ordered it Wednesday and it arrived on my desk (according to SWMBO) on Thursday morning ! How good is that..?? John - there are a few suppliers who should take a leaf out of your book ! Thanks ...

Vic

That's the sort of thing I was looking at - is it from readily available plans..?

I've also looked at a D4 which may become the start of a hybrid design !

Cheers

Cheers all for the comments ! The number of boats vs engines made me laugh - we have 6 vehicles for 2 drivers in our house at the moment..! :D It is more of a father/son/daughter project - something that can be used at some point for all sorts of tasks so I'm keen to make it something that is usable...

Small Boat/Pram/Dinghy for a Forty Minus

Afternoon... was talking to the boy (my 10 year old..) about the gull at the weekend, and he raised a valid question ! 'What boat are we going to put it on Dad..?' :? Got me thinking, as we are currently boatless and the stuff I am looking at is usually inboard diesel size. I was thinking about some...

Thanks Peter I'm used to dealing with old Landrovers so the heat/WD40/7lb hammer routine is well versed !! The clench bolt has resisted duck oil and a serious heating with a MAPP torch, and liberal abuse with an air impact wrench, so a hacksaw is the last resort ! I've yet to break one of these love...

New Fuel Tap

Afternoon... Second post in a day... This is a very good site - I'm a member of a few of these for 'other projects' and this is up there with the best ! Now, on to the request. Is it possible to buy the brass fuel tap as a 'new old stock' item..? I currently have a horrid plastic tap that leak...
