No charles, sorry you miss understood, i re-drilled and tapped new threads,m6 threads, i also made new set screws with a m6 thread but with 7/16 af hex heads(11.11mm)rather than the standard 10mm hex to keep it all imperial,i would have used bsf but my company don't stock the correct screw cut inser...

Has any one got a steel tank for a 40+ that isnt rusted out? Ikeep looking at my 40+ with a replacement brass tank bought from john and thinking it doesn't look right,yes i know there horrible etc etc but there you go! I'm willing topay a reasonable price or will swap for a very horrible featherweig...

Thanks for that chaps,i will re-drill tap new threads . Been stripping my recently accquired 102 for a bit of a cosmetic overhaul, in the process ive managed to snap 3 out of 4 bolts that retain the tank brackets to the head/barrel! to compound problems i have also snapped a stud extracter in one of the broken bolt ends. IT LIVES!!! Picked up the 102 this morning,drained the tank etc and refilled with fresh fuel,stuck it in the test tank and she started on the third pull,pumps water lovely!going to give it a clean up and a bit of a service then tomorrow i'm off to introduce her to old father thames! I to have a motor that leaks at the crankcase joint,its not bad enough to effect running or warrant a strip down.As long as its not effecting crankcase pressure i would be tempted to leave it alone and look on it as a crude form of lubrication for the pivot arm :D

Just been having my evening cruise round the bay(ebay). The prices some people are asking for seagull spares are scary,just seen a throttle cable for £15. plus p&p!!Bought one from john last week for £7.50! And what is it with people breaking what must be perfectly good motors and selling them...
