Sailing the weedy wye!

So many weeds tangled in the prop. But she keeps going. So easy even mini me can guide her!

Re: Restoring a Marston OA

I’m envious now! I’d love to do something like that, but at present I’m too young!! working 50+hrs a week don’t leave much time for playing. 40yrs time maybe when I’m retired but I’ll probably be too frail to do anything. Fantastic work there, and a fabulous descriptive process. Credit where c...

I am having fun disassembling it tho. So far it’s a mix bag of bolthead sizes!! On the plus the bore and piston looks fine with really good compression.

Re: Its mine

So I’ve collected the FP and all appears well. I did have a little issue with fuel spilling from the carb bowl constantly whilst running. Also need to reseal some of the fuel connections. But it works. Any further information appreciated, not sure how rich or not she should run, but starts again and...

Its mine

This is what I have for some summer fun. Last year cost me a months mortgage to keep the girls entertained! This year that’s not going to happen!
One boat 2 engines and no paddling...
I collect the motors in the next few weeks. Any info on the top one much appreciated - no number yet!

Re: Anything free cheap

So I’ve just shelled out a whole 26 British pounds for a silver century short shaft. I’m assured it was running last year and dry stored since. No number yet as it’s 200miles away in the sellers boatyard. A quick call to a mate and I’ve saved £66 on shipping fees as long as I can wait a few weeks, w...

Re: Fuel filters

Thanks Keith, where are they located? I haven’t got myFP yet to see. You say it’s got two, so did my mk1 golf but I put one in anyway and the amount of muck that collected was phenomenal but easier to clean. And for £2 can’t go wrong..

Bought a boat (dinghy) to take the wifeee and daughter out on.. although I will still have me time in the kayak (may even make a mounting bracket for FP!!!? John has offered a wealth of knowledge on my scrap of information leadin...

Anything free cheap

If you don’t ask you don’t get! I would love to see how these are put together to give me some prior knowledge in keeping mine going (‘76 FP). It has already been recently fully serviced so I don’t want to jeopardise it - it only cost £40 at a hard haggle! If anyone has something dead that is wantin...

Fuel filters

Does anyone use inline fuel filter? I’m thinking of the glass inline type with a washable filter. Will this impede the flow or such? Thanks

Thank you John

A little thanks goes a long way. And my thanks goes to John. For this page and the invaluable knowledge that he has on these old birds; and keeping them alive. Hello to you all. New to the game, done a bit of canoeing with the fam and plenty of kayaking with the lads for years. First motor though - ...
