That will be interesting if it is a puffin and how far they went. Let me know what you find
I have had a closer look, and unfortunately, there’s no puffins in my shed.😏
Cheers 😀

Re: Old castings

That’s a fantastic find. I think that I may have a puffin also 🤔 I have a couple of outboards, that are dismantled, and are in a box. I think the cylinder head looks familiar. I will try to get it out in the next week, and compare. If it’s the same, then I will be interested in a cylinder head, and ...

Re: Week end outboard

It looks to me, like the transom bracket attaching mount is broken?
Do you have the transom clamps, and associated parts?
If not, you may have to custom make something.

Re: SD4985L3

Wow, that’s a very nice original old seagull.
Very good score.
Interesting adaptation of the transom bracket. Looks to be part of the original, and also part of a later model.
Will be interesting to see more photos, when you get it.

Re: Week end outboard

Very cool little outboard.
It would seem, that there are not very many around.
That makes it more interesting, in my opinion.

Re: No!

What a fabulous looking boat. I was tempted to bid, but part of my family, wouldn’t be happy.
Hopefully you can find a nice pair of twins, of the same era, for the back.
Looking forward to seeing more pics, later.

Re: Have I got the longest one?

Just as an update. Previous owner has just replied, that the original transom bracket is not available, and presumably lost over the years.
Such a shame, as he was a bit of a hoarder, and seemed to have saved most things.

Re: BMB Outboard

As an update, I recently found the correct front cover, and tiller arm, for my ensign outboard.
Hopefully it will be an easy restoration

Re: Have I got the longest one?

Just to confirm, this seagull is about 49 and a bit inches tall. That is about 3 inches longer than my other long shaft seagulls. It has been modified very well, with the exhaust tube, driveshaft tube, and clutch rod, all being extended. Has anybody else got an extended seagull.? And spiro, Magneto n...
