Re: Skeletal Bracket

It is very exciting. Both of my brackets lack the V. Wonder why they go missing? Breakage? I would say with the old type of bronze, it would have been quite soft and more than likely bent and fallen off never to be seen again! A big thanks Nudge. All good! I / you need to get them before you...

Re: Skeletal Bracket

I left the moulds down the foundry last week.... Called in on Monday, but was not able to get in there to have a look. Spoke to the boss man, he told me he would cast the parts for me later in the week when casting a prop or two. Will keep you informed as I find out. It won't happen over night, but ...

Re: Modified 102

Perhaps even to destruction if necessary. This Is the only way to find out the limit of an engine! It has to be done! If you cant break it, then the part is strong enough Or you have not taken it to that point! You have spoken lots about the "power head" and not a lot about the gearbox or...

Re: Boats ans Seagulls.

Nudge Sounds simple in principle except that we're talking about a rectangular shaped exhaust port,(not really square as such) and often with a bridged section down the middle of it. I was just trying to keep my answer simple.... If you wanted to know how I would go about the problem myself.... I w...

Re: Boats ans Seagulls.

but the flange that will connect it to the port i'm having trouble working out the best way of transitioning from a rectangular shape (exhaust port) to a round shape (the header of the expansion pipe) has me a bit confused. A bit more reading and i'll have a better idea of where i'm heading with it...

Re: Boats ans Seagulls.

So, now you know... Not really! try to optimise the 102 combustion chamber for a tighter clearance. how do you plan on doing that? I know how it could be done on a square block, but a 102? you would need to fill the cylinder with something? how would you hold it in there?? I have thought about it a...

Re: Skeletal Bracket

Stage one of the casting process complete I went down to the foundry today and rammed up 6 brackets. ( I was doing them to keep the cost down) They will end up being cast in manganese bronze(C863) it is more yellow than brown, close to brass is colour. I was going to see if I could have then made in...

Re: Boats ans Seagulls.

Has anyone tried "playing" with a 102 cylinder before?
I have some ideas of my own, but i'd like to hear how some of the guys from down under do it.

No! But you can spill the beans on your ideas!

Re: EFPC Starts OK but Won't Stop

Hi everyone, isn`t it wondeful that someone has a Seagull that won`t stop? And that as a problem? I sure wish that I had his motor. My Seagull starts, runs for thirty minutes, then stops. I`d like to have it running, eternally! Janzip Is it getting hot? Do you have a good flow of water? Start a new...
