Re: cutting out

No progress, I'm not getting much water time to test it out. One thing I have noticed though is that the fuel level in the 'clear' plastic U of the fuel line changes. It starts out fully charged but gradually little bubbles appear at the fuel tap end and grow in length until they are about half way ...

Re: Gear oil

Hi, I think I will stick to 90 oil, as I haven't had much of an issue , with oil loss. I don't use my motors that much, but after a few hours use over 3 or 4 days, the oil is thick and well emulsified. Usually after a few days at home, I will drain it out, and refill with clean oil. I have yet to s...

Re: serial numbers for a 102

I'll check to see what I've got, I might be able to help. have you checked with John as SOS? Not yet, very busy over the weekend and more tomorrow. Time for a few emails next week to see what John has. I'll be looking for other problems too before I finalise an order, once I get the chance to pick ...

Googled it. At $385 for a 20 litre drum it's worth more than my whole collection of Seagulls. Does it come in 2 litre bottles too? Couldn't see them. I'll have to find a Shell dealer.

Re: Gear oil

Bugger! Guess who bought the Penrite... Looks like I'll be looking for some Shell Strombus before I do any great damage.

Thanks for the info.

Re: Gear oil

I use my gulls for regular trips up and down the Chanel, stopping off at the odd shack on the way, often this means long running times in access of 4 or 5 hours with out top up or draining. Just in November on such a trip, I damaged a gearbox by the wrong oil and was faced with a rebuild and a spar...

Re: serial numbers for a 102

Thanks for the offer Andrew. Unfortunately my advice has been that the prop shafts are not interchangable between the clutched and direct driven models. Bugger!

Re: Time for the Riptide.

Nice collection there! See what you mean about the tank, looks like it has been replaced at some stage. The livery looks like Victa? The connection bolts underneath the tank are also different. Different ignition advance levers on the two single too. Do you know how they are meant to be operated in ...

That's a pretty long list of suggestions, thanks for them all! I will start checking them out one at a time and let you know when I make some progress.
