Wipac Mk11 specifications?

I have a Century Plus and a Forty Plus, both with Wipac Mk11 ignitions. Problems starting the Century led me to check out the ignition, and putting a multimeter across the coils gave me a resistance of 1.4 Ohms across the primary windings, and 4.74 Kilo-Ohms across the secondary (the Forty showed re...

Re: Condensation?

Interesting. I hadn't thought to check the seal on the breather, so I'll have a look at that. I always use super unleaded, as the main (petrol) engine on the boat seems to run better on it, so I should be avoiding the dreaded ethanol in any case. I won't be able to get down to the boat until Saturda...

Condensation?

I keep a Silver Century Plus as an auxiliary on my cabin cruiser, which is moored in Bristol Harbour. Today, I went to start it for the first time in about 8 weeks, and I couldn't get it to start. I ended up drawing off nearly a jam-jar full of water out of the fuel line before I got any 2-stroke mi...

Century or Century Plus?

I'm rebuilding a clutched Century long shaft to use as an auxiliary on my Freeman 22 cabin cruiser. My Century has the normal 4 bladed weedless propeller, but on my spares-donor machine I have the big low ration gearbox with the massive 5 bladed fan propeller, so would it be better to swap the lower...

Lubricating stainless steel threads.

I have finally managed to get the gearbox on my 40+ apart, but only after using a blow-torch on all the screws. I am replacing the screws with nice shiny stainless Allen-headed ones from Jon, but I wonder whether I should be using a lubricant on the threads (as I think you're supposed to with stainl...
