Re: Dreaded Bedding Compound.

Cello Not sticky tape. About 16 years ago I lost my Puss "Clarise" complications with liver from an earlier snake bite. She was six. I was gutted. Word got around through my partner of that time work.......an unknown body rocked up the front door one early morning and just handed me a VER...

Re: On AU Ebay 2Day

Well done, I made an offer but little late and below asking price. Funny how motors move around this Seagull is heading east and I have two 102's heading back here from NSW's, fresh water Murray area. John Thanks John, I've watching this for months. It was advertised on Gumtree previously with an a...

Re: On AU Ebay 2Day

Serial D1855 Ok so after a quick chat with Hugz (thanks again), the owner and another friend I went ahead and bought it predominantly for the skeletal bracket. To say it not in good shape is a huge understatement. Will assess further when it arrives in Melbourne and decide what to do with it. Restor...

I'm thinking picture framing shops. I'm sure it was used on old picture frames.

I'm sure I've seen the same chain on old picture frames. Has anyone tried a framing shop?

Thanks you, that's awesome.

I guess the in print on some covers may be deeper than it is on others. Its very shallow on this one, that's why I'm reluctant to have a go.

Thanks again & regards,

Re: On AU Ebay 2Day

I've been watching that one for months, it was advertised elsewhere.

Bitch of a place to get to otherwise i would have been in it for the bracket and a few other bits and pieces. It's currently sitting at half of what he wants $.

Re: Removal of a seized piston ring from the piston

I am with others on this, that piston should not be used in anything other than a display engine. Alloys can become very soft if left in water for extended periods. I do not understand the technical reasons for this but have experienced it repeatedly over my outboard collecting/restoring years. Rece...

Good question :). The external surfaces certainly look to have been blasted.

Re: Non seagull outboard I. D

That is coming up well. Controller works on ohms law. Electrical current is proportional to voltage and inversely proportional to resistance. So not enough current passing through globe to make a difference to voltage. Am l correct Spiro? Sounds good lol. Second last sentence has me scratch...

No, I still only need one for the SD.

I do have one from a Britannia that I can use for the moment. The only external difference is that it is scripted with fuel/oil mix information.

Re: Seagull forty crankshaft case leak

I would not be able to sleep knowing its there, and not fixing it, but that's just me aye!

Some Loctite 515 (or similar) on the mating surfaces before reassembly is suggested.
