Re: hayling island race

I am up for it, will do anything I can to help.
Need to get a boat built but that wont take long, need to build an engine as well thinking about it. Sold all the ones I had except 2, long story.
When is it usually held.

Re: A Boat for the 102plus

How can you be so down on plywood boats denchen ? Easy and cheep to build and in my opinion not bad looking, this one cost about £35.00 and a days time. Google Gavin Atkin's Boat Designs or try http://home.clara.net/gmatkin/design.htm loads of plans and free boat design software. The Barton Skiff mi...

Re: Unrestored 102 SD (Naval?)

Just remembered, I had trouble about 3 years ago getting a 102 running and bought the service manual from John.
It tells you how to set up the carb, had it up and running in no time.

Re: Unrestored 102 SD (Naval?)

I was sorting through a box of bits at the weekend and found an identical throttle lever, was not sure where it came from or if it was from a Seagull.
Let me know if you need one.

Re: sEEgull conversion questions

Charan Really sorry to put a dampener on your project but the 2.5kW quoted above is correct at 48 volts. The most load you are going to draw is about 12 amps which will not produce the thrust you are going to need. I am not saying that it will not work just the performance is going to be so poor its...

Re: Finally found a little Clinker

Rene You need to have a talk to your "smokes a lot, cannot be very Eco friendly" brigade who change their outboards every year or two. The carbon footprint of a Seagull is going to be so low compared to a new outboard that they should be embarrassed. Up to half a cars carbon footprint is i...

Re: Prop

Back to this again. I took the 102 out for a run a few weeks ago and she would not gain speed or rev any higher from half throttle. She overheated and started to spit steam out so I have striped her down and discovered that the cylinder jacket was full of rust. I have cleaned it out and rebuilt only...

Re: Seagull Race, Midlands

Tinker
Your offer is very generous and I would love to take you up on it but unfortunately I am not in the position to do so for a year or two.
I hear the shooting and fishing in NZ is fantastic and would love to try both.
The offer is very much appreciated, perhaps in a couple of years.
Cheers

Re: Seagull Race, Midlands

Tinker Well I am unsure if your just being friendly or rubbing my nose in it? Really cant understand where you find so many Seagull owners that want what looks like a fantastic day out in NZ. How did you get on in the race, is your engine heavily modified and did you build your own hull? After the s...

Re: Seagull Race, Midlands

I am confused and disappointed; I really thought that some seagull owners would want to race in the UK. What is the point of having a racing engine or hull if you’re not going to race it? I am not criticizing the event in Cornwall in anyway and I would happily travel there for a race but it’s not a ...

Re: Seagull Race, Midlands

I thank you for your advice.
I got the impression that members wanted to race but could not find a venue.
I have learnt my lesson, they want to talk about racing only.
Enough said.

Seagull Race, Midlands

Dear Forum Members On another post HA asked me if there were any suitable venues in the Rugby area for seagull racing, its took a bit of searching but I have found somewhere. Please look at this link. http://chasewaterski.co.uk/ its not in the Rugby area but quite central in the UK. They have two hu...
