Re: RNLI, we can help!

Crews rescueing boats on a shout may claim slavage if they wish, but must repay all the costs of the callout if they do - which probably won't leave much for their efforts if they did. Crews claiming salvage has not been common partly because I think it is believed that it could discourage some casu...

ebay ID

I'm sakean99, and live in Stafford (not a million miles from Wolverhampton!). I bought my 40 featherweight on e-bay but am unlikely to be buying collector's items. The 40 is required to power my rubber duck to/from the moorings after I broke the fuel tap off my SuzyQ DT2. A replacement tap is on fac...

spanner spotting

I run a bike recycling workshop staffed by volunteers from "difficult" backgrounds. The only way I can sort the tools back into sets at the end of the day is to put a bit of coloured elec tape on them. Quick & easy to do, generally lasts a couple of years and easy to replace if damaged...

Re: Threads

You can use biodegradable 2 stroke oil too and 3 weeks later all will have reverted to vegetable matter, clever! John SOS But it takes me weeks (months?) to use a bottle of 2/-, so will I justend up with a bottle of green slime in 3 weeks? Otherwise it sounds like a great idea - but does it make my...

Lost Seagull

I'm sorry but I think it's mine. I'll bet you found it in the mud . . . . where I dropped it. 8)

seagull heating system

I suspect that the extra resistance of all that piping would reduce coolant flow to the point where it would get hot enough to act like a radiator. Not sure what it would do for an engine designed to run cool tho'

Thanks for all the info. I straightened up the old cable a treat - it IS all brass (including the outer cable reinforcing). Using poly sheath over it to stiffen it didn't seem to work, moving the tiller up & down put stress on the cable at the ends of the sheathing so I took it off. You're right...
