5 engines available

Hello friends I have not been on the site for some time now, having sold my boat and other stuff going on. Alas I am not doing boat stuff now. I do however have 5 seagulls sitting in my garage needing some restoration or overhauling. As I know you guys are genuine seagull people I thought I’d approa...

pre sale, two FPs

Hi guys I'm just letting forum members know I have two 40+ engines I'm putting on eBay once I get time to take photos. Both have been stripped but loosely put back together for storage. I'm in Ayrshire, Scotland. I will post photos here first so members get first call. I believe one throttle cable i...

Re: "Adequately powered" Orkney

Yeah, the Orkney boats are nice. My boat, although not an Orkney, has similar looks and that was the big attraction for me. I've now been offered a 10hp Suzuki outboard. It's 12 years old but never seen the water, so I'm well pleased. With my Century and Suzuki, 'llI have two good engines to choose ...

Re: "Adequately powered" Orkney

Thanks lads. I'm very pleased with my purchase, can't wait to get it looking good and in the water. As I say, I have a century (which I believe is about 5hp) so I'm confident it will give me enough power to have some relaxing cruises up the Firth of Clyde, and up around the islands of Cumbrae and Bu...

I'm not sure if this is an Orkney but it has similar looks. I'll take more close up pics tomorrow and ...

Re: fish farm in our loch

My sympathy goes to the people of Skye, fish farms are becoming too common, especially in beautiful scenic places like northern Scotland. There are fish farms scattered around Scotland and the only happy people are those who own them. According to expert food people, the fish are never like wild fis...

Re: Boat/engine help needed

Thanks a lot guys, this is when I love this forum, you guys have the knowledge and experience. As far as I can see Charles, it's not painted apart from the transom, it looks like paint is peeling off that. Once I get ownership I will get more close-up photos then with your help, I can decide what I ...

Boat/engine help needed

http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/uu297/spiderg1/DSCF0055.jpg [/url] Hi Guys, this is what I'm looking at buying now. There's a story behind it so I have to wait to see if it comes to me or not, but I'm hoping it does. As you can see it needs some TLC but it's exactly what I'm looking for. I belie...

Re: Totally gutted

David, although it's not an Orkney Spinner, it's still a nice wee boat. Ideal for what I'm wanting, however, it's now at 410 and just about going out of it's value. Anyone with any idea of boat values (considering a value is what the individual feels it's worth to him), please pm me with your though...

Re: Totally gutted

Point taken. Will let things drop now and wait for something else. By the way, for the records, the seagull which was also in the deal was SPCL473D9. Minus the choke which he didn't know was broken off, however it started on three pulls.

Re: Totally gutted

Guys you didn't let me down, I hoped for replies like the ones I got. And yes, I learned some lessons here. Having viewed the boat several times, it now appears my over enthusiasm let me lose sight on looking faults. To be honest, the faults could be rectified, but to buy some poor sods' stolen outb...

Totally gutted

Hi Guys I'm back to being the owner of a rubber dinghy, alas a last check before securing my new boat shattered my dreams. Having not seen the outboard started, I insisted on doing so before handing over any cash. With hesitance the guy went off and got the key, rigged up a battery and after some he...
