Ok, I slotted it into the bottom slot and after I changed the plug and added new fuel, it fored on the thrid pull.
Then I found it was nto piumping any water at all - despite me having drilled out the crap that was blocking the head....
So am now pulling it down to investigate further.

Needle circlip on late model Amal
Hi all I was taking the throttle cable off the late model Amal on my ESC to see if I could free it as it had jammed, and in the process I somehow knocked the circlip that holds the needle in the base of the carb slide off..... ...and it has three grooves in the needle stem to choose from........eeny...

Re: important concern seagull scarborough event
I agree. People are far more likely to be curious than antagonistic. And let's face it, if you choose to live in a canal estate you are accepting all manner of boating activities on your doorstep. And even if they might object to the blue haze or the drips left behind...it's only a once off.....not ...

Re: Something for the weekend sir?
So is that a direct drive Seagull 3 from '89?? Did they also call that a Featherlite? Or is the vendor mistaken?

Re: Gull News Letter
No chance of that, Rolf. It's put together by a voluntary team of extra-terrestrial, super-human pygmy aliens, who spend much of their 'editorial' time squawking, chiakking, and fighting over the last chip. But at least the wages bill is not excessive. Cuppla kilos of fish and chips each day.... But...

Re: Gull News Letter
Yeah, sorry peeps, but we did not want to post it up here as a re-direct, as it will be going up on John's site at some point, but he's struggling with the workload and the necessaries to get it sorted. As it's a large PDF file it can't simply be uploaded to the forum. For the record, the PDF file w...

Brisbane Meet - Scarborough - Sat April 21st
G'day all Well, we're slowly getting things off the ground Down Under, and this will be the first of two events planned for the Sunshine State of Queensland, being a gathering for the Brisbane based Seagullers. Sunday was tricky for a couple so we opted for a Saturday meet, and as most of the guys a...

Sydney meet - Bobbin Head - April 15th
G'day all Just posting this up here to clarify in case there was any confusion. We had the date for this as the 8th in the latest issue of 'The Gull', but it turns out that's Easter Sunday, so in fact it will be on the following weekend, the 15th, with a rained out back up of the 22nd. Meet at Apple...

Re: Wood Boat Plans Arrived
Reckon their weight estimate is a bit out. My 10ft-er - which is only 2-ft shorter - weighs about 35kg, ply and glass/epoxy. One or two layers of 6oz ought to be enough, if you are going to paint over it with marine-grade paint! Weight is the killer with small motors, so aim to keep it light. As Col...

Re: Essex Flock
There is an extensive article in the forthcoming March 2012 issue of 'The Gull' newsletter, due up on the site any day now. John is just waiting for Peter the webmaster to recover from a bout of overwork and the link will be put up. Lots of pics and all faces identified, if not the motors..... :) Al...

Re: Lifting a Featherweight
Try the 'fireman's lift' method.....
Stand motor up on it's skeg.....kneel down with one leg.......clasp Seagull to opposite shoulder.....stand up again.
Hey, presto, motor on shoulder....much easier to carry, and leaves one and free.
To place motor on transom or ground, reverse the process.
