Thanks Charles, does that wire go from coil to condenser then on to the points? It doesn’t go directly from the coil to the points does it? If I understood John correctly he said to cut that wire at the points, fit a new condenser to the backplate, then run the wire to the coil. Sound right? He said...

Update:
Local collector John Crichton has suggested this arm is not an issue (only a felt lube) but I should replace condenser, in fact add a new 3rd-party one onto backplate and bypass existing one. Am keen to try this....

Well I had to take it up 100mm to get exhaust about 2" below waterline; amazing it ever ran before. Should be able to get a lil' closer to the ramps now...
