Hi, still trying to remember which fim I saw the gull in, but while searching found that there is one in the talented Mr Ripley.

Re: seagulls in the movies ??
I remember watching a war movie with Anthony Quinn (I think!) taking the part of a Greek partisan, I think on Crete. He makes his escape from the island on a small wooden rowing boat with a Seagull on the back. I think that there was a problem starting the motor that raised the tension as the enemy ...

Re: Pitted chrome and paint.
Freeman Cruisers have lots of chrome plated components aboard and this question comes up regularly. There have been posts on their forum about the varying prices of chrome platers and who is the best in each region (UK). Might be worth signing up and checking out what has been said in the past. Goog...

Hi and welcome to the forum. Nice to have another tyke on board. I am in Dewsbury and run a 40 plus on the inflatable tender to my river boat. Not had any major problems with my gull but I can reccomend the forum as a mine of useful advice. Well done with your find.

Forty plus car boot prices
Hi, went to the local Torksey Lock car boot this weekend. There was a sad looking 40+ on one stand. It was not solid but the guy had no knowledge of how long ago it was run. The fuel pipe was all wrong, it was filthy and the drive shaft was all green with corrosion. The price, £40 and he was not bud...

Re: Royal engineers handbook
Still no reply from the RE Museum so I think I have drawn a blank on that line. I have found quite a bit on FBE with pictures etc but nothing yet that shows a Seagull attached. Interestingly the FBE was designed by the same chap who designed the canoe of Cockleshell hero fame and there is/was a book...

Re: Best Motor Option for 11' Inflatable
Hi, I run a Forty Plus on an 8ft inflatable, generally I would say that we get about 3 knots without thrashing the engine too hard. The limit on our canals is 4 knots anyway so we never really worry too much about getting any more. We would have a bit more weight on as my wife is a bit heavier than ...

Re: Royal engineers handbook
I saw this posting and thought why not ask the experts so I have contacted the RE Museum to see if they have any further images of these items in service, I await a response.

Flog it last night
Did anybody catch the BBC Flog It programme last night? Not where you would expect to see anything Seagull related. The program me was based in the Cambridgeshire Fens around Ely. They did a feature on a commercial eel fisherman who had a small boat that was been pushed around by what looked and sou...
