Re: Exhaust seal

I was wondering if any members have tried machining the brass bush/casting, and fitting a standard oil seal? You would still get some oil leaking from the drive shaft bush, but It should cut down on the oil loss. As far as I can remember late model seagulls had standard oil seals fitted.(not sure abo...

Re: Wintery or what?

Hope my boat is not one of them. I have not been able to to get to check mine over due to the road conditions. It has been left on moorings with a fridge full of milk and food for nearly five weeks. Am expecting the worse as the fridge will have shut down long ago on low voltage. I did drain the fre...

Re: pilot 30 shells

Hello David I may be wrong but I don't think you will find any genuine Anzani shells. As you are looking for shells then the crank journal must look OK. Get a digital vernier and check the diameter of the journal, then again at right angles to make sure its not worn oval, you should have up to .002&qu...

That well known auction site.

Hello all. Just been looking through the boat motors and engine section on the well known auction site. Now I will be the first person to admit that I don't know anything about engines, but one offering did catch my eye. An inboard p**ter mini 6 diesel, described as reconditioned by a professional boa...

Re: Rare Opportunity!

Hello Ian.
Thats strange,I thought that was my xmas gift.
When I asked her what she was getting me,she said"by Christmas the way you are
going with these outdoor motors you will be in a wooden box."
The seagull wooden box box was all I could think of.
Wonder what it could be? :?

Re: Why does the sum of the parts exceed the cost of the whole ?

Oh ....I don't know, the hand full of rusty screws looks a bargain at £25. After all, these parts have been"tested" The bent up old sea bee in boat motors and engines looks a snip at only £250+25 p+p (Its the only one I have seen with"Bosh electronic ignition"). Think the site has...

Re: Naval SD motors

Many years ago on holiday in Brittany we came across a kind of museum that had salvaged items from the D-day landings. They had on display equipment that had been recovered from the sea and beaches. Just about everything was there weapons, motorbikes, even tanks. Not sure if its still there as it was ...

Re: fitting Alternators

OK thank you Rex. An anti clockwise alternator would solve the drive problem, and 60 amps output is fine. I am not sure what kind of Honda vehicle to look for 4 or 6 cylinder, but understand that it is front wheel drive. Perhaps an older model as most cars now seem to have the flat wide drive belt,th...

For the benefit of the Australian members who have never seen snow,I am listing a few snow facts. Snow was invented by sir Issac newton, shortly after he invented gravity. (Some people did say that snow had been around for years, but until he invented gravity had remained in the sky) At first snow was...
