Yes Barry, that is exactly what Seagull did with the QB series, as they had done with the 102s. However the whole idea of Seagull, is simplicity, and as it works without doing extra, they left it like that for years.
At the very last gasp, they were experimenting with water injection again, the simplest way was to drill up into the water jacket from inside the exhaust!! Snag to that is the water tends to get back into the cylinder, so a small bore copper pipe was fitted to prevent this, it works.
