Last year I purchased a 74 silver century that had been stored in a shed for a long time. The guy said it had only been used a few times.

It was covered in grim and years of dust. I cleaned it up and cleared all the fuel lines.

I removed the plug which is the original 3COMM and appeared. There was no carbon on the piston or plug.

I was very surprised to find silver paint on the plug thread that was still wet. I thought the guy must have repainted it, although the engine looks hardly used. Have you ever seen this effect?

Engine goes great and starts first pull after I worked out how to flood the carb.
