Hello there,
you are doing your homework!!
The number information has been gleaned over a number of years, and includes the records, such as they are, obtained from the old Chillington factory.
The letter 'i' and 'L' were not used simply as they could be confused with the number '1'.
I do not know the codes for the ill fated twin, though I have just found a brief advert, which I shall add soon. Could be they were the letter codes, hopefully someone will have one to tell us.
The WD number only refers to the 102 of those years and not to the war years models, that had their coding as listed.
As far as I know, all the letter codes listed were used.
The GEF is listed, that's the Featherweight with a Bing carb and CD ign, 1983. The GFP and GF should also be on the list, I shall check. The model 60 had an Amal carb and was thus 'AFPW'
The KC is listed in the manual as for Greece only? I will have to add that one to the list!
WSP from memory is the Silver Century Plus, about 1979 vintage, with no clutch, oddly I can't find it on my lists either, so you have me on that one!
So is there any one who can fill in the blanks for us??
